Apropos to the recent news item “Vehicle checking drive intensified across city,” it is good that Traffic Police have intensified vehicle inspection.

The Police should also check vehicles for the following:

1) Vehicles without number plates or the number plates which are not as per RTO specifications, size and font.

2) Vehicles violating one-way — moving from No Entry point.

3) Altered silencers of two- wheelers and four-wheelers.

 4) Haphazard parking of vehicles at No Parking Zone.   

Traffic violations are more between 8 am and 10 am as the vehicle users rush in order to go to their office, school or college.  Similarly, it is high between 4 pm and 6 pm, when aforementioned category of riders are eager to rush back home.

The Traffic Police and Mysuru City Corporation authorities should jointly work to put an end to stray cattle menace. The cattle-heads are let loose by the rearers, which prove a hurdle in the free flow of traffic and also causing many minor and major accidents at times. 

Also many road humps across city are not painted with white stripes and also without warning boards “Road Humps Ahead.”

Adding to this are the beggars, young and old alike seeking alms at most of the traffic junctions who also obstruct the free flow of traffic.

Recently some beggars were taken into custody by the Police but I am sure they will be back on roads soon!  

Hope the above issues are taken into due consideration by the Traffic Police and see to it that the roads are safe to road users who follow traffic rules.
