This is in support of the suggestion by H.S. Sathish in this column dated Mar.18. It is indeed a worthwhile proposal to relocate the FlyBus parking location from KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand to a nearby spacious place.

About two months ago, while seeing off my daughter at the present FlyBus location within the Sub-Urban Bus Stand, I had a severe fall due to the haphazard parking of the bus and the constrained space. In the ensuing chaos, I ended up damaging my hip bone.

My daughter, seated in the FlyBus with tears streaming down her face, could only wave helplessly as the bus departed. I, meanwhile, sat near the ticket-issuing platform with my leg twisted awkwardly, while my wife stood by my side, equally distressed. Displaying quick thinking, my wife managed to bring an autorickshaw inside the bus stand after informing the Police personnel of the emergency. We hadn’t used our car, as the parking arrangement at the Sub-Urban Bus Stand is, frankly, dismal.

Eventually, I was taken to a hospital, underwent surgery and am still recuperating. I sincerely hope that Sathish’s suggestion is taken seriously by KSRTC officials and that action is taken to resolve this ongoing issue.
