Tuberculosis awareness rally

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Health and Family Welfare Department, along with the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Tuberculosis Control Centre and National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), as part of World Tuberculosis Day had organised a Tuberculosis (TB) awareness rally in city recently.

The awareness rally was flagged off from the Office of the District Health Officer (DHO) by the Health and Family Welfare Department Divisional Joint Director Dr. Prakash Puranik.

The rally, comprising students and staff, holding placards, which began from the DHO Office passed through SP Office Circle and returned to the DHO Office premises. 

Later, at the programme organised at Arogya Bhavan, nutrition food kits were distributed to children affected with TB and certificates were distributed to TB-free Gram Panchayats.

District Health Officer Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy, District TB Control Officer Dr. Mohammed Shiraz Ahmed, Dr. Nayana from JSS College and others were present.
