Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have arrested two burglars involved in two burglary cases in their limits and have recovered 500 grams gold ornaments worth Rs. 40 lakh.
The accused are identified as 48-year-old Venkatesh and 37-year-old Ravi, both residents of Jayanagar in Bengaluru.
On Mar. 6, Vijayanagar Police had registered a house breaking for theft case, where the burglars had decamped with gold ornaments from a house located on the 1st Main Road in Railway Layout at Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, following which a special Police team was formed to crack the case.
On Mar. 10, when Vijayanagar Police were conducting their regular patrolling, they found two persons moving suspiciously in Vijayanagar 4th Stage and took them into custody.
The Cops, who interrogated them, came to know that they had committed house burglary in their limits and based on the information provided by the two accused, the Police recovered 500 grams gold ornaments worth Rs. 40 lakh from them.
The accused were produced before a Magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Raviprasad, guided Vijayanagar Inspector S.D. Sureshkumar, Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar and staff K.N. Manjunath, N. Venkatesh, Hajra, K.S. Ranjitha, Vidya Karadiguddi, M.K. Muralidhar, Raghavendra, R. Likith and Technical Division Staff Kumar, Manju, Shyansundar and Gurudevaradhya in the nabbing and recovery operation.
