Mysore/Mysuru: The Division of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru,  is hosting the DST SERB sponsored International Conference on “Genetics and Epigenetics of Cancer” (ICGEC-2023) on Oct 30 and 31.

The event will be  inaugurated on Oct. 30 at 10 am at Sri Rajendra Auditorium of JSS Medical College in Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar here.

Dr. Murugesan Manoharan, Distinguished Chief of Urologic Oncology and Director of Robotic Urologic Surgery at Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida, Miami, USA, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Dr. Suresh Bhojraj, Pro-Chancellor of JSS AHER, will deliver the opening remarks. Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, will unveil the compendium of conference abstracts for ICGEC-2023. Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, will preside.

The Organising Committee, led by Dr. K. A. Raveesha, Convenor of ICGEC-2023 and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences; Dr. MVSST Subba Rao, Co-convenor of ICGEC-2023 and Professor at JSS Medical College; and Dr. D. Guru Kumar, Organising Secretary of ICGEC-2023,  will be present.

This conference will revolve around pivotal cancer research themes, including Cancer Biology, Molecular Epidemiology of Cancer, Cancer Epigenetic Mechanisms and Cancer Stem Cells and Therapeutics.

Renowned speakers from prestigious institutions such as the University of North Texas Health Science Centre, USA, and prominent national organisations, including the Indian Institute of Science, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central Food Technological Research Institute and the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education will participate.
