Mysuru: City’s Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced two persons to seven years jail after they were found guilty of murdering a man over land dispute.
Those sentenced to jail are Srinivasamurthy and Revanna. The victim is Kuntegowda. Srinivasamurthy and Revanna had sites on the land purchased by Kuntegowda and used to frequently quarrel with Kuntegowda saying that the land belonged to them. On Nov. 22, 2013, they dragged Kuntegowda to the land beelonging to one Gayathri where they strangulated him to death.
The then T. Narasipur Inspector M. Mahesh Kumar, who had registered a case, investigated and had submitted a chargesheet to the Court. Judge Gururaj Somakkalavar, who heard the arguments, found Srinivasamurthy and Revanna guilty and sentenced them to seven years rigorous imprisonment. Public Prosecutor B.E. Yogeshwara argued on behalf of the Government.
