Vasundhara Bhavan, new stage for artistes

Vasundhara Bhavan of Kalandika Academy of Arts was inaugurated at Saraswathipuram in  city recently. The Academy is founded by acclaimed dancer Vidu. Premita Govind, a senior disciple of Danseuse Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Sri Ramakrishna Ashram Adhyaksha Swami Muktidanandaji inaugurated Vasundhara Bhavan.

Vidu. Premita Govind, an engineer by profession, took up Bharatanatyam at the tender age of four and has been under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Vasundhara. Premita started her own Academy ‘Kalandika’ for arts in 2015. Kalandika is now a well-established Art Academy which provides a platform to interested individuals to learn and demonstrate their abilities in various art forms like dance, music, yoga, painting, drawing to name a few.

It aims to serve as a nurturing space for artistes, students, and enthusiasts of all ages. With state-of-the-art facilities, including spacious air-conditioned auditorium with seating capacity for 300, a performance hall and dedicated spaces for workshops and community events, the Vasundhara Bhavan will foster creativity and collaboration within the local arts community.

The inaugural event featured week-long captivating performances, showcasing various dance forms and cultural expressions by leading artistes and also honouring of various personalities for their contribution towards art and culture.
