Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Astronomical Society (MAS) is organising a Webinar on ‘Jantar Mantar Observatories’ on Aug. 6 at 7 pm through online platform. Resource person Dr. N. Rathnasree, Director, Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi, will speak about the observatories of Jantar Mantar.
Dr. Rathnasree completed M.Sc in Physics in 1986 from University of Hyderabad and Ph.D in Astrophysics in 1994 from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.
A post-doctoral fellow from Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru and University of Vermont, Burlington, USA, she has published books on Science, Education and Astronomy. She has organised many opto-mechanical and hybrid programmes at Nehru Planetarium. Additionally, she has organised national-level outreach programmes in Astronomy and has published numerous research papers on Theoretical Astrophysics, Radio Astronomy and Archaeoastronomy.
The webinar shall be conducted through Google Meet. It is open for all and there is no registration fee. Participants should register initially and all registered attendees will get an e-certificate.
