Welcome to metal birds

November 21, 2017

Sir,

With the resumption of flights after a gap of two years from the Mandakali Airport, Mysuru, passenger aircraft have started hitting the skies of Mysuru, which is really a matter worthy of jubilation.

This time, unlike the previous occasions, where air connectivity was only between Mysuru and Bengaluru which proved to be a utter flop for want to takers, indicates better chances of survival.

Mysuru, being a heritage city and considered as the cultural capital of Karnataka with high tourist potentiality, is unimaginable without air connectivity. Whereas, smaller cities like Mangaluru, Hubballi and Belagavi do have this facility in Karnataka.

Let us hope, the joy this time will not be short-lived as before turning out to be another mirage — appearing and disappearing again and again.

Mysuru is international standard tourist, cultural, heritage city. Airlines should make a network of tourists cities which people wanted to see in their life. Especially now there are affluent Indian NRI’s who wanted to see India in a different route than flying to Delhi/Mumbai/Chennai etc wasting valuable time traveling in roads.

Mysore can be connected to the following cities in India & few international cities, which were capital of ancient kingdoms.

Madurai, Kochin, Bhuwaneshwar, Jaipur, Colombo, Kathmandu, and Timpu(Bhutan) etc. This will make a network of cities that connect the dots, so that tourist benefits visiting these places.

The problem in India is, government never take a survey from people’s wish. The just come with bokline and bulldozers and start digging your roads for no reason. If all agree, if there is one Airport built in Maddur, with high speed train connectivity between Bengaluru and Mysore would fulfill the necessity of both cities. But which politician will listen to you ? Politicians never consult with people before taking any decision. Abdul Kalam’s dream of seeing developed India cannot be seen not only in 2020, even 2220 we will be still digging the roads on daily basis.

its funny that people think Mysore is bigger than Hubli-Dharwad and Mangalore,…..I mean are you serious?
