Wins medals in Natl. Curling Championship

Mysuru: City’s B.S. Atitha represented Karnataka in the 2nd National Curling Championship 2022-23 organised by J&K Curling Association at Gulmarg in Jammu & Kashmir and won two medals — Silver in U-14 Mixed Team event and Bronze in U-16 Female Team event.

The 11-year-old is the daughter of Sunil Bilikere and A.N. Divya, residents of Subhashnagar, Hebbal, Mysuru. A 6th standard student of Podar International School, Mysuru, Atitha is trained under International Curling Players Raju and Kishan.

National Curling Federation President Dr. B.S. Rashmi Saluja, Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and the sports authorities of Jammu and Kashmir honoured the winners.

Team Karnataka Coach Raghavendra and National Curling Federation Director Abdul Razak were also present on the occasion.

Curling is the official sport of Winter Olympics and it is played on ice floor.
