Mysuru: A youth stabbed his stepfather to death over petty reasons on Sathagalli Ring Road at about 10 pm on Apr. 13.

The deceased has been identified as Syed Mateeb, who runs a tea shop at Azeez Sait Nagar in city and the accused is Matheen, son of his second wife. Syed, who had stayed away from his first wife, had married another woman and his second wife’s children also knew about it.    

About a week back, Matheen, son of Syed’s second wife had fought with Syed over mobile phone issue and those who were present during the fight had separated them besides advising them to remain calm.

On Apr. 13 at about 10 pm, Matheen arrived near a petty shop, next to VTU on the Ring Road in a car and when Syed was speaking with a person known to him, Matheen took out a knife and allegedly stabbed Syed on his chest. Though Syed, who was profusely bleeding was being rushed to a hospital, he is said to have breathed his last midway. Udayagiri Police have registered case.
