Mysuru-based visually-impaired chess player K.M. Shashidhar drew his 13th and final round tie against Tamil Nadu’s Marimuthu and finished 12th in the final rankings with 4 points from 13 rounds in the 12th National ‘A’ Chess for Visually-Impaired which concluded at Mumbai yesterday.
Kishan Gangolli of Karnataka with 10.5 points from 13 rounds clinched the title. He was followed by Patil Sirish (Maharashtra) with 9 points, K. Makwana Ashvin with 9 points, Aryan B. Joshi (Maharashtra) with 8.5 points, S.K. Pradhan (Odisha) with 8.5 points, who took the places from third to fifth in the rankings.
