Mysuru: The two-day Kabaddi Tournament for BJP workers of K.R. Assembly Constituency, organised by K.R. BJP Yuva Morcha as part of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Centenary celebrations, began at the ground opposite Panchagavi Mutt, Gowri Shankarnagar, here yesterday. Actor Srinagara Kitty inaugurated the Tournament by showering petals on the portrait of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya .

Speaking on the occasion, MP Pratap Simha, who is also State BJP Yuva Morcha President, said the Kabaddi Tournament is aimed at bringing youths from urban and rural areas alike closer to the party. The Tournament is being organised across the State and the one held at Chikkaballapur recently had drawn huge crowds he said and added that a State-level Kabaddi Tournament will be organised at Kolar in the coming days.

In all, 21 teams from 21 MCC Wards falling under K.R. Constituency are taking part in this Tournament, which concludes today.

Panchagavi Mutt’s Basavalinga Swamiji, City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, K.R. Constituency BJP Yuva Morcha President H.S. Jaishankar, City Yuva Morcha President Gokul Govardhan, Corporators B.V. Manjunath, M.V. Ramprasad, Seema Prasad and Jagadish, leaders Mallappa Gowda, M. Rajendra, Somasundar, Shivakumar, Devaraj, Mysuru Travels Association President B.S. Prashanth and others were present during the occasion.
