Sundaramma (81), wife of late Y.S. Jayakanth, Proprietor of Prabha Stores on Bazaar Street, passed away on Monday evening at a private hospital in Mysuru following a heart attack. She leaves behind three sons and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at Muktidhama in Vijayanagar in Mysuru, according to sources.

Ningamma Javaregowda (78), wife of Patel Javaregowda, former Chairman of Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board and a resident of Badagalahundi village, Jayapura hobli in the taluk, passed away yesterday at her residence. She leaves behind two daughters and two sons. Last rites were formed at the family’s farm in the village this afternoon.

C. Lakshmamma (81), wife of retired Railway employee late L. Krishna and a resident of Tilaknagar, passed away yesterday in city. She leaves behind three sons including The Railway Co-operative Bank Director Dr. K. Vijayakumar and a daughter. Last rites were performed at Jodi Tenginamara Burial Grounds in Bannimantap this noon.

Joy Maliekal (64), Founder-Director of Rural Literacy and Health Programme, Mysuru and a resident of Gayathripuram, passed away last night at his residence in city. He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends. Funeral was held at the Catholic Cemetery in Rammanahalli this afternoon.

M.N. Cheluvachar (76), Editor of city-based ‘Radiant’ Weekly and a resident of Sardar Patel Road in Devaraja Mohalla, passed away last night at his residence following a heart attack. He leaves behind his wife and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this morning.
