4-day Theatre Fest from tomorrow

Kadamba Rangavedike, a renowned theatrical organisation in city, has organised a 4-day Theatre Festival at Kirurangamandira (Mini Theatre) in Kalamandira premises on Hunsur Road from June 15 to 18. Performances starts from 6.30 pm onwards each day and entry is free.

The Fest aims to showcase the best of contemporary and traditional theatre. Audiences can look forward to a range of thought-provoking plays, artistic performances and gripping storytelling. It will bring together talented actors, directors, playwrights, and production teams from across the country, showcasing their extraordinary skills and creativity. The carefully curated selection of plays will explore a variety of themes, from social issues to human emotions, offering a rich and immersive experience for all attendees.

The event will commence with the inauguration of a photo exhibition showcasing the remarkable journey of Kadamba Rangavedike, will be inaugurated on June 15 at 6 pm by S. Thippeswamy, a renowned personality in the field of photography. This unique display of photographs will provide a glimpse into the rich history and achievements of Kadamba Rangavedike, setting the tone for an evening filled with theatrical brilliance.

The Fest will be inaugurated at 6.30 pm by renowned actor and theatre personality Babu Hiranniah, accompanied by chief guests theatre person Mandya Ramesh, Kannada and Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudharshan and Rajashekhara Kadamba of Kadamba Rangavedike. Theatre person Prof. H.S. Umesh will preside.

Seminar & book release

As part of the Theatre Festival, a Seminar will be held at 11 am on June 18. The Seminar, focused on the extraordinary journey of Kadamba Rangavedike, will feature renowned speakers N. Dhanajaya and Ganesha Amingad. Their insightful presentations will shed light on the artistic evolution and accomplishments of Kadamba Rangavedike. Distinguished theatre personality Megha Sameera will preside.

In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Kadamba Rangavedike, the book, dedicated to capturing the essence of Kadamba Rangavedike’s remarkable journey, will be released by theatre person H.S. Suresh Babu. This literary tribute pays homage to the enduring legacy of Kadamba Rangavedike and its contributions to the world of theatre.
