Sir,
This refers to the front page news item titled “Littering in public to invite penalty from January 1, 2023” in SOM dated Dec. 9. Does the MCC and other authorities realise that Mysuru has become a “city of garbage”? Wherever we go about in the city, we find heaps of garbage everywhere. There are also people burning dry wastes. This creates a lot of respiratory issues and other health hazards.
It seems that the MCC is totally oblivious to the vegetable market located along M.G. Road. Every day, huge amounts of garbage are disposed off in the market, which invites cows and insects. Also, every day, the road on both sides is blocked by vegetable vendors, their tempos and vehicles. This makes it extremely difficult to drive down that road as it becomes absolutely narrow due to these obstacles.
MCC should actively look into this issue and resolve it as early as possible.
To emulate the Indore model, the MCC and other authorities should follow best practices from the Indore model — a city which has been topmost in cleanliness year after year.

Chain Snatcher’s City
Corrupt City
@Santosh
Add to you r list the following too:
Thanks to Wayanad-Nanjangud-Mysore corridor for Malayalees, Mysore has been: Hawala channel money transactions city
Gold smugglers paradise
Non-Kannadiga immigrants who pay no water bill or property tax
Corrupt police a. MCC and Muda
Yes. I am in a posh locality JL Puram. MCC does not sweep our 2nd main road despite calling up health inspector and the contractor. Once I had to create a scene in the MCC office to get the sweeping done in my road. After that there is long absence of sweepers. Even the garbage vehicle comes in the morning does not take the garbage on the road. Corporator does not even bother to visit the locality for its cleanliness. Modi or no Modi corruption is rampant.
So true mysore has become a garbage city stray dogs have man eater specially rajivnagar so badly maintained that you can see garbage everywhere you get see garbage dumping yard…
For Mysore to be a cleaner city, first education should be prioritized. Civic sense through electronic media and other media should be instilled. I live in a beautiful location in VTU college road in Saathagalli. Our road is strewn with garbage. The authorities should do something about the pigs. Their owners should be advised on not letting them in public places.
In Mysore city, stray dogs seems to outnumber the pedestrians! They are the menace, and for that single reason only no Western tourists visits Mysore/India.
Add to the above the stray wicked youth and men who molest women frequently, and should be hunted and eliminated like stray dogs.
The last Wadiyar S D Wadiyar -Pramoda Devi tries to elevate him as a great Wadiyar, was like a stray canine on heat seeking young women through motor bike rides looking for them, during early 1970s.
Stray dogs, stray thugs -youth and men looking to molest women, garbage strewn around, people urinating and defecating at street corners, spitting every where, you name it, Mysore has it!
Jai Hind! Modi’s country!!
I live in Yadavagiri, it has a citizens what’s app group with our Corporator Ravindra in the group , all issues are posted in the group , it does get addressed . Sadly citizens don’t want to follow , house maids are asked to discard garbage who throw around – we have segregated garbage pickup too – it will successful only if both Citizens & Corporation join hands
Yes I do agree. Very pathetic roads…… Dust & Dumps all over….. It’s very difficult to travel every day….. Not only particular area, almost entire Mysore. Definitely will not vote anybody….
So sad to here d same news from all d areas from mysore.In udaygiri also d same problem inspite of complainin to d health inspector sweepers won’t sweep our surroundings….Dogs population has become over …. they bark throughout day n night…… who will take care of our city …
I would like to suggest to SOM to rate all the wards & their respective corporators of Mysuru in terms of various factors such as roads, cleaning, garbage collection and disposal etc. As tax paying citizens, we are entitled to know how the various corporators are performing.
I thought only the area where I live is in a pathetic state. But after reading all the comments, I can say whole Mysore is getting ruined due to inept authorities.
Apart form the issue of garbage, another common concern highlighted in many of the above comments is of the stray dogs. Whether dog lovers agree or not, there is no denying of the fact that population of strays digs has risen rapidly in last few years in Mysore. One can find 10 to 20 dogs within small neighborhood locality.
@Rajeshwar
Drop your title. You seem to be the only one who has no issues.
I wonder whether you understand whether you understand the issues raised. From your post, You seem to be living in another planet, hallucinating, where honest corporators and MCC officials address the issues quickly.
When corruption and nepotism is the norm.What better can be expected.
