Mysuru: The online booking for pujas at Chamundeshwari temple atop the Chamundi Hill and for entry to Mysore Palace is evoking very good response by the day, said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep.
After the District Administration facilitated online booking for various ‘sevas’ (services) at the Chamundi Hill from Sept. 6, 2017, the response from the public has been very encouraging, he said in a statement.
According to Chief Executive Officer Prasad of Chamundeshwari Temple, it has earned Rs. 5,64,437 through online booking. The online booking through the Chamundi Temple website for the sevas include e-kanike, saree offering, Chandika Homa (group), Chandika Homa (individual).
After this facility was introduced, 381 people have booked online and the temple has earned Rs. 5.64 lakh so far, he said.
The number of tickets booked is 104 and the total earning is Rs. 40,600, while for e-kanike, 77 persons donated Rs. 62,570 in all. For the samanya seve, 160 people had booked and the total earning was Rs. 50,917 and for saree draping 27 people had opted and the earning was Rs. 1,370.
In all, 11 groups had booked online for Chandika Homa and a handsome Rs. 3,85,000 was collected, while Rs. 24,000 was collected when only two persons booked online for Chandika Homa (individual).
The demand for various sevas has increased as the number of devotees to the temple has gone up. Hence, if more and more people utilise the online option, then the entry to the temple will become easy, said Prasad and added that people can visit the website: http://chamundeshwaritemple.in and log into for booking.
Mysore Palace
The District Administration has provided online booking facility for entry to the Mysore Palace too and within a short period, 731 tickets have been sold earning Rs. 33,000. With this facility, tourists can book entry tickets sitting at home and gain easy entry into the Palace. The cost of purchasing the tickets will also remain the same.
If the visitors take a printout of online booking or show the mobile phone display as proof of booking the ticket at the designated counter, will be scanned and the visitors allowed entry. This is the easiest way to enter the crowded Palace, said Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya. The tickets for adults is Rs.50 and for children it is Rs. 30. For the school children the ticket is priced at Rs.10 and even the schools can purchase tickets online, he added.
The website www.mysorepalace.gov.in is very user-friendly and it will open on all gadgets including desktop, laptop and mobile phones. Importance has been given to security for those booking online. The website has been developed along the lines of e-commerce portals, said Future Design Technology Chief Naveen Kaviratna who has developed the website.
