Mysuru: The team of five “Celebrating Life” — comprising two vocal artistes, two dancers and a rasika as the event ideator — will be presenting an evening of Indian classical compositions, specially curated and concept based at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar on Dec.12 from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.
The event explores the intrinsic commonalities between two major genres of Indian classical music, namely Hindustani classical and Karnatak classical, individual beauties of the two classes and their influence on each other. This programme, by and large experiential, is essentially meant to address a comparative study revisiting both the systems and also rendering short compositions illustrating and exemplifying beauties of each.
Vid. Manasa Nayana, Karnatak classical vocalist from Mysuru and Shubhada Mudhol, Hindustani classical vocalist from Bengaluru, accompanied by Vidu. Swati Biswas, Bharatanatyam artiste from Bengaluru and Vidu. Meghna Rao, Kathak artiste from Pune, will attempt to address the concept with their renditions.
Sharmila Ghosh will introduce the concept and share the highlights of the programme.
