Mysuru/Mysore: As part of an effort to engage students in nation building, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the students wing of BJP, will be organising a two-day ‘Vidyarthi Samskruthi Chaluvali-2’ on Jan.18 and 19 at KSOU Campus in Muktagangothri here.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, ABVP National Secretary Harsha Narayan said that the ABVP has been organising events where the youth will be trained in personality development and engaged for nation-building. As part of this plan, the ABVP will be organising the event in Mysuru, wherein the students will be exposed to the cultural richness of the country, he added.
The two-day event will feature a variety of contests including individual and group contests. The contests include mono-acting, street plays, group folk dance and singing, painting, drawing, sculpture, devotional songs, debates and seminars, essay, photography, etc., he said.
Regretting the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) incident, where students were attacked by masked youths, Harsha Narayan dismissed ABVP’s alleged link to the incident.
Accusing the left parties of being behind the attack, he said that some organisations and individuals are unnecessarily blaming the ABVP for the attack, when the fact is that some ABVP activists themselves have suffered injuries in the attack. He also demanded a high-level probe to find out the real culprits involved in the attack.
ABVP leaders Rakesh, Goutham, Sharath, Prajna and others were present during the press meet.
