Mysuru: Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Mysuru Unit, will be conducting a two-day ABVP Vidyarthi Samskriti Chaluvali, a cultural festival for college students on Feb.16 and 17 at KSOU premises in city.
In a press release, ABVP District Unit Chief Mahadevprasad stated that this cultural competition has been organised not only to entertain but also to promote the culture of the land and build a robust India.
Various competitions including street play, classical dance, fancy dress, group dance, mono-acting, debate on ‘Development of India lies in villages,’ speech on the topic ‘Role of youths in nation building activities,’ essay on ‘India’s past, present and future according to Swami Vivekananda’s Vision,’ painting and sculpting contest on Glory of India (Bharatha Vaibhava), self-written poem recitation will be conducted as part of the cultural festival.
A cash prize of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000 and Rs.5,000 including a trophy will be given for first, second and third prize winners of mono-acting and folk dance.
A cash prize of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 plus trophy will be given for first three winners of group competitions.
Another cash prize of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 1,000 plus trophy will be given for first three individual competition winners. A maximum of 30 students can take part from each college. Group contest participants must pay a registration fees of Rs. 50 and Rs. 30 for individual events before Feb. 10.
