Mysuru: Shourya award winner ex-serviceman B.R. Ningaraju has accused MUDA of failure to allot sites in Devanur 3rd Stage to achievers from different fields, even after collecting money from them.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, he said that the MUDA had invited applications from achievers of different fields in Feb. 2023 for allotment of sites in Devanur 3rd Stage and even collected money from them. But MUDA is delaying allotment of sites which is disappointing, he said.
“The applicants have already paid more than Rs. 2 lakh for allotment of 12×18 mtr. dimension sites. But now some MUDA officials are saying that the application process itself is wrong and as such the process has been cancelled, which has caused concern among the applicants,” he noted.
Maintaining that several applicants had made payment to MUDA by borrowing money elsewhere for an interest, after MUDA issued the notification, Ningaraju said the notification had said that a total of 188 sites would be allotted. But nothing has moved forward even after 23 months of notification and collection of money from applicants, he said adding that the MUDA officials have been unresponsive to their plight.
Stating that he was the only Shourya award winner among the 488 applicants, Ningaraju said that the achievers included musicians and other professionals who have excelled in their chosen field. He warned of waging a legal battle if there is any further delay on the part of MUDA in the allotment of sites.
Achievers from sports field — M.P. Ajit, T.S. Ravi, B.K. Somashekar and Puneeth — were present at the press meet.
Meanwhile, MUDA Commissioner A.N. Raghunandan said that he was not aware of the process involved in the allotment of sites for achievers. Maintaining that the process started even before he took over as MUDA Commissioner in the first week of July last year, he said, however, he will look into the issue before making any comments in this regard.
