Adiyogi Rath Yatra arrives in city

Mysore/Mysuru: The Adiyogi Rath Yatra, which is travelling from Udupi to Coimbatore, arrived in Mysuru this afternoon.

The Rath Yatra which had arrived at Yelwal in the city outskirts yesterday night  after travelling through Bettadapura and K.R. Nagar from Kodagu, left Vivekananda Farm House near Yelwal  this morning and passed through Hinkal, Aishwarya Petrol Bunk  on Hunsur Road and SJCE Road before reaching Krishnadhama this afternoon.

The Yatra will resume after some time and will pass through Saraswathipuram and Vidyaranyapuram before reaching Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill later this evening.

The Rath Yatra will traverse through the main thoroughfares of the city on Jan. 1 and 2, before leaving the city for Srirangapatna on the afternoon of Jan. 2, from where the Yatra will travel to Mandya, Maddur, Channapatna, Ramanagara, Bengaluru, Chikkaballapur and Hosur and other towns in Tamil Nadu to reach Coimbatore on Feb.13.

The Rath Yatra which started from Udupi a few days ago, will cover many towns and cities of South Karnataka and North Tamil Nadu, travelling a distance of over a thousand kilometres, before culminating at Isha Yoga Centre at Coimbatore on Feb.13, ahead of Mahashivarathri.

Jan.1: The Rath Yatra will leave Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill at 8 am and will pass via  Gowrishankara Nagar, Aramane Panchagavi Mutt,  Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashrama, Karya Siddhi Anjaneya Temple, Ramanuja Road towards Madivala Swamy Mutt Gaddige, 101 Linga Temple, Kamakameshwari Temple, 101 Ganapathi Temple near Agrahara, Shankar Mutt, Sharada Devi Temple, Maddaneshwara Mutt, Aramane Kote Maramma Temple Main Road, Aramane Someshwaraswamy Temple Main Road, Aramane Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple Main Road, Silver Jubilee Clock Tower near Town Hall, Dufferin Clock Tower near Devaraja Market, D. Devaraj Urs Road, JLB Road, Old DC Office, Mahajana Hall, Chandramouleshwara Temple, Gokulam, Vijayanagar Water Tank, Surya Bakery and will reach Annapoorneshwari Temple in Hebbal at 8 pm.

Jan. 2: The Adiyogi Rath Yatra will leave Annapoorneshwari Temple in Hebbal at 8 am and will travel via Metagalli and KRS Road towards Srirangapatna from where it will move further.
