Mysore/Mysuru: NIE Institute of Technology (NIE-IT), Koorgalli, held Annual Distinction Award Ceremony in its campus recently.
Sudhanva Dhananjaya, Hon. Secretary, NIE Foundation, was the chief guest. Dr. Bansilal, Principal, NIE-IT, presided. Dr. N.V. Archana, Co-ordinator, Freshers’ Day and H.R. Sujatha, Chairperson, Endowment Committee, NIE-IT, Mysuru, were also present on the occasion.
The chief guest presented endowment awards to 87 meritorious students along with other dignitaries.
Congratulating the endowment awardees, Sudhanva Dhananjaya emphasised the need for character in the formative years of career where opinions are impregnated. He explained that Engineering is multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary and it’s the convergence of many concepts that final shapes a product. In conclusion, he also called for developing entrepreneurship ideas amidst a global competitive environment and multiple opportunities in higher education and placements.
On the occasion, the institution also welcomed its freshers for the academic year 2020-21 for 5 branches of engineering — CSE, ECE, EEE, ISE and ME — who have undergone a week-long induction and orientation programme to equip themselves for the professional course.
Four faculty members were also felicitated for completion of Doctoral degrees. Donors, parents and awardees actively participated in the event.
The Principal welcomed the dignitaries, briefed the gathering about the latest developments in the campus with respect to infrastructure, training & placement and research.
H.R. Sujatha, Chairperson, Endowment Committee, conducted the award distribution programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. N.V. Archana, Co-ordinator, Freshers’ Day. H.R. Srinidhi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of ISE, rendered invocation. The event was compered by D. Rajeshwari and J. Pavithra, Asst. Professors, NIE-IT.
