Bengaluru: As a measure to alleviate the problems of Bagar Hukum cultivators, Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari has directed the officials to issue Bagar Humkum tilling certificates to cultivators in a week.

Addressing an official meeting here on Wednesday, Poojari expressed disappointment over some Tahsildars refusing to issue the tilling certificates to cultivators, most of whom are from the oppressed sections of the society.

Asking the officials to inspect the lands and  complete the process of issuing tilling certificates in a week, he said that a district-wise report must be submitted to him in a month on the progress made regarding the matter and the number of certificates issued.
