BJP lodges complaint against Mandya District Election Officer

April 4, 2019

Mandya: A delegation led by BJP Spokesperson G. Madhusudhan has lodged a complaint against Mandya Deputy Commissioner N. Manjushree, who is also the District Election Officer, with the State Chief Election Officer.

Speaking to the media after lodging the complaint, Madhusudhan accused the District Election Officer of giving opportunities to JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy to correct his nomination papers twice, which is illegal.

He further said that the District Election Officer had asked Independent candidate Sumalatha’s agent Madan to give a written complaint and by the time Madan could write and give the complaint, the District Election Officer had accepted Nikhil’s nomination papers. He also accused the District Election Officer of showing negligence when asked for the CCTV footages of the scrutiny of nomination papers.

Madhusudhan said that they have demanded to change District Election Officer Manjushree and Observer Ranjith Kumar besides informing that State Chief Election Officer Sanjiv Kumar has said that they have submitted the probe report in this regard to the Central Election Commission, which is likely to take action soon.

I can see this only in SOM.
Is it not the case that Sanjeev Kumar has probed and given clean chit to DC?
This is new tactics from BJP in pressurizing officers by harassing them as their main tools i.e. fake ‘whatsapp university stories’ and facebook ‘hate mongering’ articles are not fetching desired results unlike in 2019.
