Mysuru: With the two-day 11th Brahmins Mega Convention scheduled to take place at Bangalore Palace Grounds on Jan. 18 and 19, Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha State President Ashok Haranahalli launched ‘Vishwamitra,’ a publicity vehicle of the Mahasabha at a programme organised at Shankara Mutt premises in Agrahara here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the two-day convention has a special significance as it marks the Golden Jubilee celebration (50th anniversary) of the Mahasabha. Calling upon the Brahmin community members to claim their rights, he said that the community must come forward for seeking benefits and facilities just like other communities. He said that the convention comes as an opportunity for Brahmins to show their strength and unity.
Mysuru City and District Brahmins Association President D.T. Prakash said that free buses will be arranged from Mysuru for the community members to attend the convention in large numbers.
Karnataka Brahmin Development Board Chairman Asagodu Jayasimha, Srirangapatna-based scholar Dr. Bhanuprakash Sharma, Shankara Mutt Dharmadhikari H. Ramachandra, Gopal Rao, Hoysala Karnataka Sangha President K.R. Satyanarayan, Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha Vice-President Pushpa Iyengar, Ramachandra Bhat, Vikram Iyengar, Ajay Shastri, former Corporator M.D. Parthasarathy (Pathi), Sowbhagya Murthy, K.R. Yoganarasimha (Murali), M.R. Balakrishna, Harish, K.M. Nishanth, Seshadri Bhat, Dr. Lakshmi, Kadakola Jagadish and others were present.
