Mysuru: Shankar (82), retired Administrator at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing and a resident of Gokulam, passed away on Jan. 1 in city. Shankar was responsible for the employees’ pension scheme, implementing rooster system for SC/ST staff and was successful in bringing various welfare schemes for employees.

P. Mahadevu (50), son of Mariyamma and Puttanna couple and a resident of AK Colony in Paduvarahalli, passed away in city. He leaves behind his wife Saroja, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held in city, according to family sources.

S.D. Rani (75),  wife of late Kumar and a resident of EWS Colony, Bannimantap 3rd Stage in city, passed away here on Friday. She leaves behind her son Satish, daughter Pallavi and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at Jodi Tenginamara Burial Grounds in Bannimantap this afternoon.

M.B. Nijaguna (79), a resident of Lakshmipuram in city, passed away here yesterday. Daughter of the city’s Guru Sweet Mart Founder late M. Basavanna and Kempananjamma couple and wife of Nagarle S. Mahalinganna, she leaves behind two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed on Friday evening.

Chamamma (86), wife of late Papanna and a resident of 6th Main Road at Vinayakanagar (Paduvarahalli) , passed away yesterday in city. She leaves behind her sons Madappa and Basavaraju, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Chirashantidhama in Gokulam this afternoon.

M.V. John (95), retired Professor, St. Philomena’s College and a resident of Belavatta, passed away on Dec. 30 in city. He leaves behind two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral was held at Infant Jesus Church Cemetery in Belavatta here on Dec. 31, according to family sources.

H.C. Thammaiah (80), a retired teacher and a resident of Ramakrishnanagar, passed away yesterday evening in city. He leaves behind a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Hadya in K.R. Nagar taluk this morning.

G. Hanumantha Raya (81), retired Police Inspector and a resident of Gayathripuram, passed away yesterday in city. He leaves behind his sons M.H. Kiran (State Vice-President of KPCC Backward Classes Department) and M.H. Arun, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this morning.

Lateefa Banu (68), wife of late Syed Ghouse Peer, a cloth merchant at Meena Bazar, passed away following a heart attack yesterday. She leaves behind one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.
