Sir,
I wish to highlight the plight of senior citizens, ladies and students while travelling in city buses. Many a times it has been observed that some drivers of these buses do not care for the safety of the passengers.
Also they do not stop at the designated stop but at some distance away from it, forcing the passengers waiting to board it, to run after the bus.
The drivers and some conductors too do not bother to ensure whether all the passengers have got down from or boarded the bus safely at any stop enroute.
Readers may recall the recent incident wherein a young student bus pass holder lost both his legs after being pushed out by the conductor. Some drivers don’t bother to follow the traffic rules and signals and are found to be blatantly ignoring the same, putting other vehicle users and pedestrians at grave risk.
I request the authorities concerned to instruct the drivers to be more considerate with all the traveling public so also to follow all traffic rules and thereby avoid any fatalities.
