Mysuru: The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has issued a directive to cable network operators, urging them to promptly remove all unauthorised cables that have been affixed to roadside electric poles. In an official press statement, CESC brought attention to unauthorised installation of dish and network cables by cable operators on electric poles in V.V. Mohalla, Kuvempunagar, Hootagalli and Ramakrishnanagar.
These unauthorised installations are not only improper but also pose a significant danger, with the potential for electrical accidents that could threaten both human lives and property. Despite prior warnings from CESC regarding this matter, the cables remain in place without proper authorisation.
To address this issue, dish and network operators are asked to create and maintain a comprehensive pole inventory. Furthermore, they are required to obtain the necessary sanction from CESC for cable installations within the next seven days.
This can be done by submitting the stipulated fee. Failure to comply with this directive will result in the CESC taking action to remove the unauthorised cables in accordance with established rules. It’s important to note that CESC cannot be held accountable for any losses or damages that may arise from this action, as stated in the release.
