Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu community, senior city Advocate S. Arunkumar has lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner seeking legal action against the Minister.
In his complaint, Arunkumar said that Dr. Mahadevappa had accompanied Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to the famed M.M. Hills Temple in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district, after the State Cabinet meeting took place there on Apr. 24. After the CM received theertha at the temple, it was the turn of Dr. Mahadevappa to receive it, when the Minister voluntarily declined, which action has hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu population, Arunkumar alleged.
Maintaining that Dr. Mahadevappa had intentionally declined to receive the holy theertha at the temple, thus hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu devotees, he urged the Police to lodge a case as per Section 299 of BNS against the Minister.
