The students of Mahabodhi School excelled in the 6th GKA Open National-level Karate Championship held in Mysuru, in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mysuru.
More than 1,500 students participated from different States. From Mahabodhi School, a total of 29 students, comprising 18 girls and 11 boys, took part in individual kata and individual kumite categories.
The students secured 13 first places in kumite, 6 second places in kumite and 9 third places in kumite, making a total of 16 first places in individual kata, 4 second places in individual kata and 9 third places in individual kata.
C.K. Siri of Class 4th A section secured a cash prize of Rs. 1,000 in the Champion of Champions in the 9 years individual girls kumite category. Additionally, V. Dharshan of the Class 4th A section secured a cash prize of Rs. 500 in the Champion of Champions in the 10-year individual boys kumite category.
