Mysuru:  Dr. Mallinath Kumbar, Professor, DoS in Library and Information Science, University of Mysore, has received “Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar” given by Global Management Council, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in recognition of the noble work done in the interest of students, teachers and the entire education fraternity.  He was also given the distinction of being one of the Best Teachers in the country at the awards ceremony held recently.

Dr. Mallinath Kumbar is working as Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science for the past 20 years.  Earlier, he has served in Mangalore University and Kuvempu University, Shivamogga.  Under his guidance, 14 students have been awarded Ph.Ds and 9 students are currently pursuing Ph.D. He has published more than 200 research papers in international and national journals and has also presented papers at national and international conferences.
