Mysore/Mysuru: Alifiya Vagh of Mysuru won gold and bronze medals at the Classic National Powerlifting Championship 2024 held at Indore in Master-1 (age 40 to 49yrs), 76kg category, recently. This is her 6th consecutive  triumph at the national level.

Alifiya won the bronze medal lifting a total of 370kgs – squat 140kgs, bench press 60kgs and deadlift 170kgs and gold in deadlift equalling the current National Record.

Alifiya Vagh is coached in powerlifting by world championship gold medallist Sujay Janardhan of Redcage in Bengaluru and trains under Chandan of Rawbrick in Mysuru.
