Mysuru: The 64th All India Cooperative Week will be observed in the district from tomorrow (Nov.14) under the aegis of National Co-operative Unions and State Cooperative Federation.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city yesterday, District Cooperative Union President H.V. Rajeev said that the Week will be observed with the theme ‘Public Empowerment in Digitalisation of Co-operative Units.’

Activities like debates and seminars have been organised during the Week to assess the development and crisis and  also to highlight the achievements in the economy.

The purpose of Co-operative Week is to increase awareness among public about the role played by the Cooperative sector in Indian society and about the economic model.

A programme on ‘Good governance and professionalism through co-operatives’ has been scheduled on Nov. 14 at Ambedkar Bhavan in Nanjangud.  An event titled ‘Co-operative: Producers to Consumers’ has been scheduled for Nov. 15 at Mysore Milk Union Limited (MYMUL) premises in H.D. Kote. A programme about ‘Enabling Legislation for Cooperative Development’ and a debate on ‘Public-Private-Co-Operative Partnership’ have been scheduled at Sri Sai Community Bhavan in Periyapatna on Nov.16 and at H.D. Deve Gowda Community Hall in K.R. Nagar on Nov.17 respectively.

On Nov.18, a programme on ‘The Role of Co-operatives in Financial Inclusion Through Technology Awareness and Cashless Payments’ has been organised at District Cooperative Union premises in Mysuru and ‘Co-operatives for Disadvantageous and Economically Weaker Sections’ has been organised on Nov.19 at T. Narasipur. The programme on ‘Cooperatives a Key Partner for Skill Development’ will be held on Nov. 20 at Teacher’s Bhavan in Hunsur. All the programmes will commence at 10.30 am.
