Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy has instructed the officials to create awareness about various epidemics among the public and take precautionary measures to combat the diseases. He was chairing over the District Surveillance Committee meeting at his Office in city recently.
DC Reddy told in particular that, the Officers should be alert about Monkey Disease and Bird Flu and create awareness among the people, by providing information at Gram Panchayat (GP) level too.
Steps should be taken to stock all necessary medicines in adequate quantity at District Hospitals and Health Centres, apart from keeping a tab on inter-State goods vehicles.
The DC discussed about the number of cases pertaining to diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, cholera, jaundice, cold and fever and rat fever at taluk-level. More precautions should be taken against diarrhoea and cholera at both rural and urban areas and testing of samples should be conducted in the limits of all the 13 Local Urban Bodies, he suggested.
With summer in the offing, all health related measures should be implemented in the district in the present, so that strict measure will be in place within the next three months.
The discussions related to H1N1 and Covid cases at taluk-level were also discussed, followed by dog bite and rabies and the number of deaths and the age group of the deceased. The cases, if any, related to snake bite and the number of deaths caused at the taluk-level was also discussed at the meeting.
