Mysuru: The Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee has invited applications from amateur and professional artistes for the State-level handicrafts exhibition and competition to be held during Dasara from Sept. 21 to 30 at Kalamandira premises.
The competition will be held in painting, sculpture, graphics, applied arts, photography, traditional painting, traditional sculptures, handicrafts and inlay works. However, amateur artists will not be allowed to compete in traditional arts, sculptures, handicrafts and inlay works categories. Interested may send their entries to Secretary (Sculptures), Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee and Administrative Officer, Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee, Kalamandira, Mysuru – 570005.
The Committee will also conduct sculpture workshop for 10 invited artistes from Sept. 16 to 26 at Kalamandira and later painting workshop for 10 invited artistes from Sept. 22 to 26.
This will be followed by creative art workshop. Interested artists should submit the line drawing of art work to the Sub-Committee at Kalamandira by Sept. 18. Artists can use bamboo, paper and other natural products to create their art work. Use of plastic is prohibited.
The Committee has also organised drawing and painting competition at JSS Women’s Hostel premises between 10 am and 12.30 pm on Sept.17 in three categories — 1st std to 4th, 5th to 8th and 9th to 12th.
Rangoli competition for college students will be held at the same venue on Sept. 24 between 10 am and 12.30 pm. On Sept. 27, five artistes having excelled in various art forms will be felicitated with Mysore Dasara Kala Gaurava and Kala Prashasthi. For details contact, Secretary on Ph: 0821- 2438931.
