Santhemarahalli:  A Spotted Deer, which managed to escape from a pack of stray dogs, died after falling into a canal here last evening.

The Spotted Deer, which had entered the human habitat, was chased by a pack of stray dogs.

In its bid to escape from the pack, the Deer jumped into the Kabini Canal and was unable to come out of the Canal.

The Deer is said to have died in the Canal and the villagers informed the Police.
