Sir,
I had been to HDFC Bank, Saraswathipuram Branch to get my Aadhaar card updated. As I needed to update the address, I had taken my original Driving Licence (DL) as an address proof.
Surprisingly, my DL was not considered appropriate for verification, and I was asked to get a letter signed by my area Corporator, which would be considered as a proof for verification.
We are living in a country where having a valid document granted by the Government is not considered as a proof, but I need to get my identity verified by a Corporator whom I have never seen once in my locality. The Government should reconsider the purpose of such rules and make it less complicated for the public to utilise the schemes of Government.
