Mysuru: Dr. Arun Srinivas, Chief Interventional Cardiologist and Head of Apollo Heart Institutes, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, has been awarded the Andreas Grüntzig Fellowship by the Academy of Cardiac Interventions, London, recently. The award was conferred by Prof. Bernard Meier and Prof. Antonio Colombo.
The Honorary Andreas Grüntzig Fellowship is awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and dedication in advancing the field of interventional cardiology. Recipients join a distinguished network of professionals committed to enhancing cardiovascular care.
Andreas Gruntzig is considered the Father of Interventional Cardiology after the development of angioplasty by Interventional Radiologist Charles Dotter.
Dr. Arun Srinivas is a renowned Interventional Cardiologist in Mysuru and surrounding districts for the past 22 years. His clinical expertise and interventional skills have saved and enriched lives of many patients. This prestigious award is a feather in his cap, as he is the first and only Cardiologist from Karnataka to receive it among 20 awardees from across India. In 2014, Dr. Arun Srinivas was honoured with the Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology and the Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology.
