Music Maestro Ilayaraja invited as chief guest

Mysore/Mysuru: The Dwadasha Garudotsava organised by Panchagarudotsava Seva Samithi will be held on Jan. 18 at the Sports Complex of Mahajana Education Society in Jayalakshmipuram.

Addressing the media persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan on Friday, MLA T.S. Srivatsa said the inauguration of Garuda Sabha and Dwadasha Garudotsava will be held at 4.05 pm in presence of Seers from various Mutts.

Music Maestro Ilayaraja will be the chief guest. Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will flag-off the Dwadasha Garudotsava procession. Sri Parakala Mutt Pontiff Sri Srimadabhinava Vagheesha Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamiji, Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt Pontiff Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar, Ubhaya Vedantha Acharya Peetam Pontiff Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji, Avadhoota Datta Peetham Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji and Mysuru’s Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple Dharmadhikari Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji will grace the occasion, he added.

MLAs K. Harishgowda and G.T. Devegowda, DC G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar and Mercury Group, Mumbai, MD Sriram Bhaktisaran  will be the special invitees. Former Minister S.A. Ramdas, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, District Brahmana Sangha President D.T. Prakash, former Corporators Bhagya Madesh and Namratha Ramesh and Mahajana Education Society Secretary Vijayalakshmi Bhagwat will be present.

Following the stage programme, deities from 12 temples across the city including Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple, Jayalakshmipuram, Sri Prasanna Venkataramaswamy Temple, Hale Bandikeri, Sri Srinivasaswamy Temple, Tilaknagar, Sri Pustakam Santhanavenugopalaswamy Temple, Devaraja Mohalla, Sri Andal Mandiram, VV Puram, Sri Bhoodevi Sametha Lakshmivarahaswamy Temple, K.R. Pet, Sri Lakshminarasimha Kshetra, Belagola, Sri Lakshmivaradarajaswamy Temple, Yelwal, Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Ummathur, Chamarajanagar, Sri Cheluvanarayanaswamy Temple, Metagalli, Sri Padmavati Sametha Srinivasa Swamy Temple, N.R. Mohalla and Sri Kalyana Venkatesha Swamy Temple, Kalyanagirinagar  will be taken on a grand procession.

The procession will pass through Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple on Kalidasa Road, Mathru Mandali Circle, Vontikoppal Circle, Sri Andal Temple, Sri Chandramouleshwara Temple and Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple before culminating at Mahajana Sports Complex.
