Elderly woman relieved of gold chain

Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched a gold chain of a 60-year-old woman near the Ganapati Temple in Brindavan Layout here last night.

The woman, who lost her gold chain, has been identified as Gowramma, a resident of Kumbarakoppal in city.

Gowramma, who had been to a wedding ceremony at Kempegowda Choultry in Brindavan Layout, was returning home along with her sister and when they were walking near the Ganapati Temple at about 9 pm, two persons on a KTM bike, who came from behind, managed to yank off the gold chain weighing about 30 grams and sped away.

V.V. Puram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
