Mysuru: Department of Public Instruction Commissioner Dr. P.C. Jaffer has urged the officials to ensure that discrepancies do not creep in voter list.

Presiding over a review meeting of voter list revision at the DC’s office here on Saturday, Jaffer said that new voter registration, deletion and addition of names, etc. is going on and the officials should give no scope for any confusions in the preparation of electoral rolls.

Pointing out that voters can register even through online, he instructed the officials to scrutinise applications received through online as well.

When MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha brought to his notice about shortage of election staff, Jaffer said that he will discuss the matter with higher authorities.

Stating that electoral roll has to be given to booth-level agents of political parties, he instructed the officials to hold a meeting of political parties and take steps to provide them electoral roll.
