Sir,
I have a fancy of travelling in KSRTC which has a fleet of buses with network touching many nooks and corners of the State and even inter-States, observing diversity of nature and environment, appreciating the skills of drivers and accounting by conductors in running buses interacting with all sorts and strata of people with different dresses, cultural backgrounds, languages, ages and temperaments.
In long distance buses, the bus crew and co-passengers become my life-long friends enjoying the trip. And separation from one another at our respective destinations is very much painful.
Of late, conductors are given ticketing machines but differences and heated arguments arise between the conductor and commuters because of getting and giving change when not available. I suggest the authorities concerned to give a swiping machine which saves time, tussle etc. And remittance of cash after hectic duty hours also become easy.
This will be a boon to drivers issuing tickets themselves without diversion while driving and will not feel their job is tedious and thankless.

The best solutions is that conductor should issue an “I Owe you’ slip instead of the change which can be encashed at KSRTC statstion , that way the accounting also is simpler! If there us emergency , he can give a change too!
