Nanjangud: An ex-serviceman was killed on the spot, when a speeding goods tempo rammed into the bike from behind on Mysuru Road near Devaraj Urs Bridge in the town.

The deceased has been identified as Raghavendra (45), a resident of Hebbal in Mysuru.

Raghavendra was on his way to Sri Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple, when the goods vehicle rammed into the bike he was riding from behind killing him on the spot. The goods vehicle driver is said to have fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.

Nanjangud Traffic Sub-Inspector Lohit and staff conducted mahazar besides registering a case.
