Mysuru: Footwears manufactured by Babu Jagjivan Ram Leather Industry Development Corporation (LIDKAR) were distributed to mahouts and kavadis by District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa yesterday.

A total of 14 elephants from various elephant camps have arrived to city to take part in Dasara. Along with them, their mahouts and kavadis, cooks and assistants numbering over 50 people have arrived. The footwear was distributed to all.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Dr. Mahadevappa said that Sandalwood actor Daali Dhananjaya, who is the brand ambassador for LIDKAR, is serving without seeking any honorarium and promoting the products.

Actor Daali Dhananjaya, MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, LIDKAR Managing Director Vasundhara and others were present.
