Mysore/Mysuru: With the SSLC exam of State Board over, Bandipur Forest Officers held an orientation workshop for SSLC students of tribal hamlets and forest border villages on the academic options before them and skill development, at B. Matakere Karnataka Public School premises on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Moleyur Forest Range RFO K.R. Narayan said that this orientation workshop ‘What next after SSLC?’ has been organised in order to educate the SSLC students of tribal hamlets and forest border villages on what are the future academic options available for them. The workshop has been organised under the guidance of Bandipur Tiger Reserve Forest Director S. Prabhakaran, he added.
Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Mysuru’s Officer Dr. H.B. Chandrashekar explained the students on the future benefits and advantages of studying PUC Science stream.
Highlighting the job opportunities that are available for students opting for Science stream, he also underlined the sectors that the students can exhibit their skill and achieve success.
Netaji Career Academy’s M. Raghu highlighted the career options in Commerce and Arts streams and other courses, while K. Shivaraju interacted with the students on skill development and skill-based career options.
The other Forest Officers, who spoke, advised the students on job opportunities available in the Forest Department and the educational qualifications & other requirements needed to get jobs.
Over 200 SSLC students from B. Matakere, Koodagi, Hegganur, Katadalu and other surrounding villages attended the event.
