Global Faculty Award to be presented tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. R.S. Umakanth, Associate Professor, Department of Sericulture Science, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, will receive the prestigious Global Faculty Award-2021 from A.K.S. Education Awards for his contribution to teaching and research in Sericulture Science.

The award carries a memento and a certificate of appreciation and will be presented to him tomorrow (Jan. 15) at a function conducted on virtual mode.

Dr. Umakanth is also a recipient of Uttama Shikshaka Award (2019); Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award (2021) and also “Best Research Award” for his script of the short film “The Journey of Silk” by NCERT, New Delhi in 2021.

Dr. Umakanth is presently serving as Special Officer in the Examination Branch and Nodal Officer for Digilocker-NAD Cell and IURC, New Delhi, according to a press release from the University of Mysore.
