Mysuru: The political crisis that has hit the State following the resignation of 16 MLAs from the ruling JD(S)-Congress Coalition and two independent MLAs, has had its impact on Mysuru too, with two important MUDA Council meetings getting cancelled.
The first meeting scheduled for July 4 was cancelled as the District Minister G.T. Devegowda took part in the day-long Janaspandana programme, the first of its kind in the city, at J.K. Grounds. The meeting was subsequently postponed to July 6, as July 5 was First Ashada Friday. But this meeting too did not take place reportedly due to the Minister’s other engagements and workload at MUDA, following which the meeting was rescheduled to July 11.
But as the political crisis broke out with the resignation of over 10 MLAs on July 6, yesterday’s (July 11) meeting too did not happen, as legislators from all the three political parties, who are also MUDA members are camping in Bengaluru due to the political crisis.
The last MUDA meeting was held in May last week, during which issues such as allocation of 86 CA (Civic Amenities) sites, Group Housing Schemes, formation of 6 new layouts including Lalitadri Nagar and Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Nagar, were discussed.
These issues were to be discussed further in the subsequent MUDA Council meetings for approval and finalisation. But the prevalent political crisis that has hit the State since the past one week, has resulted in MUDA meetings not taking place at least for some more days.
