Mysore/Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW) Alumnae Association, Mysuru, had recently organised a talk on the topic “Insights on Youth Skill Development during the Pandemic” by the alumnae for first year students of all the engineering branches of the institution.
R. Gouthami, Business Support Specialist, SAP Labs India Pvt. Ltd (EEE – 2013 batch), R. Sahana, Software Development Engineer, Lenskart (ISE – 2020 batch), R. Mrudula, Application Development Engineer, Unisys India Pvt. Ltd (CSE – 2019 batch), M.R. Bhoomika, Associate Software Engineer, Accenture (ISE – 2020 batch) addressed the students.
Mrudula and Sahana emphasised on the skills to be acquired by students as required by the IT industries, must to do additional courses outside the curriculum, software languages to be known; how to select courses and ways to strengthen their resume.
Bhoomika highlighted the importance of interpersonal skills and communication skills; necessity of strong basics for the working environment.
Gouthami elaborated on seven habits for time management, importance of time management and motivated the students to prioritise the things which would help them to have a better career.
All the alumnae, during their sessions, advised the students to keep themselves updated with new technologies and be industry ready so they are employable.
