Mysuru: On account of heavy tourist inflow to the city due to weekend and Christmas holidays, traffic jams were reported at some junctions on KRS Road in city yesterday.
The traffic jam was all the more near the City Railway Station and at the Railway Museum Junction on KRS Road, as thousands of daily railway commuters and tourists enter the Railway Station through the Gate opposite the CFTRI.
The ever-busy KRS Road, on which thousands of tourist vehicles pass through every day, often witnesses traffic jams, whenever trains from different destinations arrive or depart from the city.
Most of the residents in areas such as Vijayanagar, Vontikoppal, Hinkal, Hootagalli, Jayalakshmipuram, Yelwal, Gokulam, Brindavan Extension, Vinayakanagar etc., prefer to enter the City Railway Station through CFTRI facing gate. As the commuters arrive at the Station in all sorts of vehicles, the Railway Museum Junction often witness traffic jams, which will be all the more during weekends and public holidays.
The unregulated traffic movement on this stretch of the road has led to mishaps. As such, the City Traffic Police have to take appropriate measures to regulate vehicular movement on this highly busy stretch of the road and thus ensure the safety of motorist and the pedestrians alike.
